For our office in Varna we are looking for an Environmental Specialist (m/f) to support our project development activities in Bulgaria.
Your duties:
As an Environmental Specialist (m/f) you are expected to work closely together with our highly experienced project development team in Bulgaria as well as with our international colleagues.
- Be the focal point of contact for the project’s Environmental and Social (E&S) aspects with project development manager, realization manager, ESG Team at headquarters and external consultants, ensuring the timely coordination and alignment between all concerned parties;
- Ensure the alignment of all the resources to comply with all the E&S requirements with the project management team;
- Approve scope and requirements for field work on project site for local E&S consultants in coordination with ESG Team at headquarters;
- Taking an active role during attainment of E&S licenses and approvals from national authorities necessary during all project phases (i.e. planning, development, construction, operation and, if applicable, decommissioning) of the Project in coordination with Project SPV;
- Support and supervise the development of the Project Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) in line with company standards and supervise the implementation while securing the successful compliance;
- Design and supervise the implementation of preventive measures, processes, and procedures to manage and mitigate project related E&S risks and impacts.
Your profile:
- Solid technical background in any of the Environmental and Social (E&S) related fields, (e.g. environmental engineering, sustainability, natural sciences, health and safety, social studies, etc.).
- Demonstrated work experience in Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) related and/or Social positions.
- Knowledge about the national environmental legislation and regulations is required, knowledge about EU environmental legislation and regulations is an asset.
- Being familiar with international E&S standards and sustainability safeguards is valued.
- Fluent in English both in writing and speaking.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
